Parwich Lees Estate is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It consists of 100 acres of parkland and woodland in the beautiful Alsop Dale.

The cottages are to be found about 6 miles north of the market town of Ashbourne - known as The Gateway to Dovedale - beside a quiet lane between the village of Parwich and the hamlet of Alsop en le Dale.

Parwich village (1 mile from the cottages) is a small, vibrant community, which has a shop, pub, public phone box, tennis courts, beautiful peak district cottages and is well worth a stroll around. See www.parwich.org

Walking from the door takes you to a network of public footpaths, trails and bridlepaths through rugged farmland and woodland.

The Tissington Trail - a well known cycling and walking track is visible across the valley from the cottages and is accessible by footpaths from the door. The Old Coach House tea-shop at Tissington is a great stop-over on various circular walks from the cottages. Cyclists can join the trail at Alsop Station Car Park - a five minute drive from the cottages.

Carsington Water is just a short drive away and is hugely popular with watersports enthusiasts, bird-watchers etc and has some retail therapy available too.

For those of a thrill-seeking disposition, Alton Towers Resort is about 20 minutes away by car.

Chatsworth House - the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and one of Britain's best-loved Historic Houses and Estates (as featured in 'Pride & Prejudice') is about half an hour's drive away.

Shopping opportunities are available in the traditional market towns of Ashbourne (antiques and ladies clothing) and Bakewell (famous for Bakewell Tart) and in the spa town of Buxton.
